biography and fun facts Megan Pedersen is a Chicago native that was raised in a nice suburb of Kansas City. She has been in past lives a nationally ranked synchronized swimmer, the drum major of a decent high school marching band, a musician, an actress, a sorority sister, a security officer for the Democratic National Convention, a scenic designer, an improviser and a cyber cop. Megan received her degree in Communication Studies from Northwestern University in 1997. She studied mass communications and politics as well as theatrical design and stagecraft. Megan is a member of Chi Omega (Xi Chapter), Deru and is a NU Marching Band Alum. Megan has been involved in a wide variety of ways in the Chicago performing arts community since 1998. She was the founder and executive producer of Full Deck Productions, a small independent arts company which has produced several original theatrical shows and the indie film showcase, Twirly, seen on CAN - Channel 19. She is also the producer and creator of the critically acclaimed Directors Series at the Playground Theater and served on the Playground's Executive Committee as the head of Productions for several years. Currently, she is the director and producer of the critically acclaimed burlesque troupe, The Belmont Burlesque Revue. Megan lives a few blocks east of Wrigley Field with her boyfriend Mark, who looks lovely in a beerhat, one old cat with no teeth and one fat cat with no claws. She hates to do the dishes, but aside from that, domestic life is bliss. Megan likes comic books and video games a lot, which makes her a bit of a nerd. She also has her own ego-centric website, which makes her vain and even more of a nerd. Megan is an obsessive knitter. She lives in a nest of yarn and knitting needles. She is also lucky enough to have turned her little hobby into a part-time career, working at Chicago's largest knitting shop, Arcadia Knitting. Her cats are quite fond of her hobby as well. |
