welcome to sweet justice

Sweet Justice was a journal I kept during the first year or so I was involved with improv. It actually starts at about the five or six month marks after I began the training center at Improv Olympic, so think Level 3. I was also taking classes at the Annoyance with Joe Bill. The Sidewalk Ends, my IO Harold team, had just recently formed in May of 1999.

Why did I write a journal? I guess I did it because I thought it would be a good learning tool for me, looking back on my past experiences to see how far I had come with my improv. I also think it was a bit of a release for me as well - if you're a performer, you're always going to find equal amounts of joy and frustration in your art. Finally, I think it helped me to solidify my opinions about improv and the community - because the Internet is such a public domain, I really had to mean what I wrote because somebody was bound to want to discuss or challenge my opinion.

Re-reading much of it now, I see I was over-exuberant and pretentious about a lot of things. All that aside, I still like looking back on it.
